Facebook takes a boost from the initial 26 million active Nigerian users recorded during 2018 to currently stand at 33 million users according to a new research
A reliable news source, Techpoint in a recent article revealed that
Nigeria active Facebook users have just recorded yet another major
increment. The source which confined in another source from Kenya,
published a tweet via Kenyan gospel hip hop artiste, Juliani who made a
visit to the Facebook office in Manhattan, New York City.Juliani during her visit to Facebook office had recorded a clip that suggest real time number for Facebook active users during the ongoing year of 2019, which currently stands at 2.7 billion. Also in the clip, there was a breakdown count for respective locations which also include Nigeria, Kenya, South-Africa among several others.
In the breakdown analysis, Kenyan was only able to pack 9.9 million monthly active Facebook users, with 4.7 million of them using the social media platform daily. South Africa, on the pther hand has 28 million monthly active users, with 16 million daily active users. Nigeria, however, remains Facebook’s biggest market from Africa with approximately 33 million active monthly users, among which 16 million are active daily users.
If compared to Techpoint report for last year, Nigeria had been able to add 7 million more active users from 2018 where it had just 26 million users. While this is a good deal for Facebook, it is also a reflection of the growth in the number of Internet users in Nigeria which grew from 103 million sometimes in May 2018 to about 122 million in the same period of 2019, according to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
Also, this report is also a confirmation to the fact that the number of internet users have kept soaring in Nigeria, even though many seems to see it as a false idea. And of course, this is a good omen to the development of the nation as a whole, and we can only hope that it get even better by the day.
