............ MATRICULATION DAY............
Alhamdulillah for the long-waited program(Matriculation)
which has been expected to take place over a long period of time. Fortunately,
I was able to be among those who will witness the day and be among the
matriculating students of the great school Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin. It
is my pleasure to write this short article in order to enlighten, wake the dead
mind and yet to died mind.
Firstly,
ACADEMIC KNOWLEDGE: It should be known that our purpose for
leaving our home is to acquired academic knowledge which will Insha Allah be
the bridge to whatever things we aimed to become in the nearest future.
Before the knowledge could be acquired there are some
certain conditions to be fulfilled and which will Insha Allah be our source of
academic achievement. Those things are shortlisted below.
* PUT YOUR LORD FIRST: Putting our Lord first should be our
number 1 priority because, if we we did not involved our Lord in all our
endeavors, two things may occur:
=> Performing poorly OR
=> Performing brilliantly to our destruction i.e we may
enjoy the pleasure of this world and be among those who will be an inhabitant
of Hell.
(O Allah! Safe us from the trial of the world, punishment of
the grave and the punishment of Hell fire. Amen)
* Our purpose as a student: It is our responsibility to
thoroughly known purpose as a student then the next thing for us is to focused
on the very best of best result ever. How could the very best of best result
could be achieved? It could be achieved through PRAYER, HARDWORKING(i.e doing
of assignment, attending lectures, attentiveness to lecturers, discipline,
descent presentation(dressing) etc).
*ASSOCIATOR/COLLEAGUES/ PARTNERS: This aspect should be
strictly examine because many falls in the pit of partners. There are many people
who have lost their good names, behavior and reputation through whom they
associated with and there are some who have changed from WORST to BEST through
whom they company with. Glory be to God who have granted us the sense to
recognized Right from Wrong and Bad to Good. It is now left for us to decide
whom to partying with. There are some people who have fall a victim of
indiscipline and knows their end and there are some who have adopted discipline
and as well know where they are today.
My fellow brothers and sisters, it is Good to be Good, and
it is Bad to be Bad. Negate your bad friend(s) and welcome the good ones
because they are those who will help your academic pursuit and act as catalyst
for you to get to your final destination in life.
NOTE: we are all ambassador of our family, let us represent
them well.
* Examination: We are all cognizant that the medium to the
next level is examination. Through our performance in it is what will determine
our position. Though, EXAMINATION IS NOT A TRUE TEST OF KNOWLEDGE. If one is
fortunate to pass the examination, it does not mean that he's better than those
who fails. Before you can know your academic stability, engage yourself in many
of the challenges. Through the challenges, then you'll get to know what you're
up and not up to.
Hint to exam:
Before the successful outcome of the exam could be achieved,
we have to obey 5P i.e Proper Preparation Prevent Poor Performance.
Let comport ourselves very well and supported it with
prayer. Surely, success is ours.
* Social Activities: Though, some people have reasoned that
24 hours for studying may leads to Academic Madness. We have to engage on one
activities on the other which will serves as a break to our studies and as well
activate us to some social life styles. If we are to engage on social
activities let us examine that which will promote our good names not that which
will destroyed our reputation. All what we need to do is to put everything at
minimal rate.
This social activities sometimes being accompany as a result
of freedom i.e no one to cautioned your act, monitor your behaviour as your
parents but let us note that if our parent aren't there with us, it does not
mean we have to misused the opportunity.
NOTE: We have been given FREEDOM to acquired WISDOM, do not
let us misused the chances.
* DISCIPLINE: This should be our major area of concentration
because, through our disciplinary all aforementioned will be achieved without
seeking for any lecturers or tutors for the next level.
Secondly,
CULTISM: According to Kwara State Polytechnic bill-board
information that "Cultism will destroy you and your future life, renounce
it and its membership". Indeed, the school had spoken well, and has
advised the students as well as an advice from Father to his Children.
It is possible and impossible to be its membership through
what we ingest from others, whom to associate with and looking for zero power
over other student like you.
Lastly,
GRADUATION/ CONVOCATION: We all aware that after our four
years stay in the campus, the next thing is to graduate and have our
convocation in order to give others the privilege to get to where we are today.
This is because, the world does not meant for one, if you cannot force yourself
out of the world then the world will force you out of it.
I prayed that our purpose as a student, leaving our home for
our goals, it shall be successfully achieved.
We witness the Matriculation, we shall live to witness our
Convocation as well.
